See, this one looks nice and premium. The one someone posted yesterday, which was a low trim, looked like a Hyundai. And not in a nice way (sorry Hyundai still like your cars).

Glad to hear it drives well.

This does not make me as angry as the Bentley SUV abomination, nor the Maserati. But I still wonder why it exists ....

How hard is it to drive with a boner?

Because it will be their best seller.

I don’t see it being as profitable as the Cayenne that, of course, was so profitable it permitted a financially strapped Porsche to continue building sports cars. I suppose we can convene here in a year and see what happened.

I believe this remains true - Porsche makes more on each sale (percentage-wise) than any other car company.

It better be fantastic, Jaguar said the order of “engagement” in their line up is as follows from least direct to most direct: XJ, XF, XE, F-Pace, F-Type.

The waiting list is over a year long. It’s going to PRINT money for JLR.

Luckily the seats and steering column are power-adjustable so it wasn’t that bad.

I also got to drive an AWD XE with the same supercharged V6 and the F-Pace was better to drive by a big margin.

Bigger wheels and the LED headlights make a big difference. They only had two there and they were identical.

Which steering column do you speak of?

That's really dispiriting. In what ways doesn't it match up?

I didn’t say that the XE isn’t good - It’s way better than, say, a 3-Series in my opinion. I loved it. But the F-Pace’s steering felt more direct and it was a lot more fun to drive, maybe because you’re up high in a freakin’ SUV. The F-Pace’s interior is also nicer.

The XE that I drove was the 35t, so the 340hp supercharged V6, but it was a regular model. The R-Sport would probably be more impressive.

They also had a 25t XE, but I didn’t get a chance to drive it. I really want to try the diesel.

Is this a pre-production model?

Because I swear I have seen the same exact spec at a Cars and Coffee event. And was the XE that you drove red?

This thing is a license to print money. You have a couple of people in a wealthy neighborhood buy these things, everyone else will want them. Plus, Jags appeal to the design sense of women. Game over. BMW is going to be losing market share because of them.

I don’t think so, they both had less than 100 miles on it. They go on-sale this month. The XE 35t was grey and the 25t was black.

Oh absolutely. The dealer I went to was in a pretty wealthy/classy area, too. They’ll be everywhere.

You would think so, but BMW, MB, and Audi will out residualize them when it comes to leases.

I’m not saying the F-Pace won’t sell, but the Germans have mastered the lease game and the dealership experience.

JLR make pretty cars, but the resale values are terrible and that hurts them when it comes to lease shopping.

I’d argue it makes a great deal of sense. Grace, pace, and space, how much better could it represent Jaguar? Plus, I really think Land Rover should make a sedan. (Just kidding, a little bit...)

If I needed off road ability I’d get a Range Rover, if I didn’t I’d get a Tahoe.
